Veronica Finkelstein, Esq., Features Perspectives in Legal Intelligencer Publication

October 2007-Veronica Finkelstein, Esquire, a lawyer of Duane Morris LLP, features Perspectives prominently in her article "It's No Debate," published in this month's Young Lawyer (YL) supplement of the Legal Intelligencer. The Legal Intelligencer is the oldest daily legal newspaper in the United States.

Veronica has been involved in debate since she was a high school debater at Fox Chapel High School in Pittsburgh, PA. She is one of two coaches for the Strawberry Mansion High School Mock trial team, and has been a judge for the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. Veronica has been actively involved with Perspectives' programs. Most recently, she was one of eight distinguished speakers for Perspectives' Community Voices Day at the Philadelphia Debate Institute, speaking to current high school students about careers in law.

In the article, Veronica writes: "I was shocked to discover that prior to 2007, no Philadelphia public schools were registered with the national association of debate teams, the National Forensic League. As a former high school and college debater, I know that debate instills fundamental skills ranging from critical thinking, research skills and public speaking ability. My involvement in debate was one of the major factors that influenced my decision to become a lawyer. I, therefore, wanted to get involved with Perspectives in order to help bring debate to Philadelphia."
